Matt and Maisie

Matt and Maisie were married in Christmas ceremony in the 28th December 2014.

Having decided that they wanted to celebrate their special day during the festive season, the couple began looking for the perfect location for a winter wedding, and the search was over the minute they saw Mellington Hall.

With the beautiful building views and scenery convincing them, before they even came in to our cosy reception and roaring fire, the team set about creating the Christmas wedding of their dreams, with Vanessa and the staff providing vital support during the planning and on the day.

Mellington Hall is a truly magical place at Christmas, with a giant Christmas tree towering in the lounge, set off by the stunning decoration and lights. This is the beautiful scene that Maisie woke up to on her wedding day, and walked ‘down the aisle’ to before her 2.00pm ceremony in the William Morris suite.

Dressed for the festive occasion, the William Morris room was set off with lit candles, flowers and snowy linens.

Matt and Maisie said their vows in front of 53 of their nearest and dearest, celebrating with a drinks reception and sumptuous wedding breakfast at 4.00pm.

The happy couple were joined by 8 more guests in the evening, celebrating their first day as a Mr and Mrs in the beautiful surroundings of Mellington Hall, sitting in front of the fire in between dancing the night away to the live band Boombastic.

The bride and groom retired to the bridal suite, to enjoy their first night in the luxurious suite with champagne.

From The Newlyweds

As we made our way up the driveway and Mellington Hall came in to view, we knew that the search for our perfect Christmas wedding venue was over. This beautiful building with breath taking views set the scene for our perfect wedding.

From the minute we stepped inside for the very first time, we were made to feel welcome and at home by the attentive staff.

Once we had decided to book Mellington Hall for our wedding, Kim, Vanessa and the team were there every step of the way.  Whether it was to answer a question we had, or give us some reassurance, we always found the help and support we needed.

On the day itself, the venue looked just as magical as was promised.  The staff were more than happy to help in any way in order to help getting everything ready, and to attend to our every need throughout the day; we genuinely felt that it was just as important to them that our wedding ran as smoothly as we wanted.  We really did feel special.

We must also give a special mention to Vanessa as without her, the day just wouldn’t have been so amazing!

The wedding breakfast was of an incredibly high standard too.  It was really nice for our guests to have a choice for each course without the need to pre-order.  Some of our guests also commented that it was the best food that they had eaten at a wedding.

The rooms at Mellington were all immaculately presented and therefore it was easy for us and our guests to relax and get ready for the wedding. The bridal suite was absolutely stunning and with a hot tub, the perfect place to enjoy a glass of bubbles as newly weds at the end of our perfect day.

We cannot recommend Mellington Hall enough, either for a weekend away or indeed a wedding.  We are already planning our next trip there and we know there will be many more to come!!”

Brides perspective

“Waking up early on the morning of our wedding day, I crept downstairs whilst everybody still slept. Mellington Hall was quiet and calm, and I already knew that it was going to be a magical day. As the sun rose, the hotel came to life, with the staff attending to my every wish.

Being able to get ready at Mellington Hall meant that myself and my bridesmaids were able to take our time and enjoy every moment of the preparations. When the time had finally arrived for me to walk down the aisle, Vanessa had made sure that everything was ready and just as we had asked. On entering the ceremony room and seeing all our guests, the festive decorations and glowing candles scattered around the room, the ambience took my breath away.

Our day flew by, and Vanessa and the team could not have worked harder or been more professional, thank you so much for making my dream day a reality”.
