Alex & Liarna

Alex and Liarna were married in a glamorous Halloween ceremony on the 31st October 2013.

Once engaged, the couple knew they were looking for a very special venue to hold their marriage, that would allow them to bring their chosen theme to life, and when they came across Mellington Hall, a 19th century Victorian gothic mansion, they knew it was the perfect location for them to say ‘I do’.

The staff at Mellington Hall make every effort to make every bride and groom’s day completely perfect for them, from their choice of menu, the bride’s entrance through to the decorations. Alex and Liarna knew exactly how they wanted their day to be, with a complete vision of the occasion, so Kim and the team pulled out all the stops to give them a Halloween wedding day extravaganza.

With the beautiful setting and unique features of Mellington Hall setting the scene, Liarna created a plan for their day that completely matched their personalities, their wishes and created a very special Halloween celebration.

Taking place in the William Morris suite, the spooky décor used Mellington Hall’s own beautiful features, set off by touches of gothic glamour with artfully draped cobwebs, skull table toppers and a very special skeleton bride and groom top table feature. This with the colour scheme of deep red and black all created a stunning backdrop for this completely individual wedding.

This was all topped off by an exquisite bespoke cake, designed and created by the team at the famous cake studio Choccywoccydoodah, with a very special cake topper in the form of a skull surrounded by blood red roses.

At 12.00pm Alex and Liarna said I do in the William Morris suite surrounded by their family and friends, giving them the rest of the day and Halloween night to celebrate the wonderful occasion with a photo reception (with the theme really showcasing all their hard work and Mellington Hall looking like it never had been seen before).

This was followed by a hauntingly good wedding breakfast in the afternoon, with the evening reception and entertainment later on.

Alex and Liarna celebrated their day with 53 guests during the day, joined by 20 more invitees in the evening, dancing well in to the night and making the most of the hallowed occasion.
