Gardens & Grounds

The beauty of the Mellington Hall estate is beyond compare. Laid out in Victorian times by Joseph Paxton, the renowned gardener famed for his work at Chatsworth, and the masterpiece of his career The Crystal Palace of the Great Exhibition of 1851.  Needless to say the gardens are the perfect backdrop for wedding photographs, but also whatever the weather, there is so much for lovers of nature and the countryside to explore and appreciate.

Mature woodland is pleasingly distributed over the estate, and depending on the time of year, they are carpeted with snowdrops, aconites and bluebells. Surrounding Mellington Hall, there are trees and shrubs that have attained magnificent growth over the years, including a splendid avenue of Scotch Firs. The garden has many features to enjoy including shrubberies, lovely banks of Rhododendrons and level and sloping lawns to compliment the architecture of the building.

Within the stunning grounds of Mellington Hall you will also find the Cariad Gardens, one of the only places where you can host an outdoor wedding ceremony in Wales.
